4 months and counting

Sabrina with the red collar and Samson with the blue are now 4 months old.  They get into everything and have the greatest time jumping around and chasing each other.  Once they are worn out they cuddle together on their blanket and sleep for hours.  Puff our other cat who is 4 years old is starting to want to play with them on occasions but for the most part she just sits back and watches ... from a distance.

2013 Pensacola MSABC walk.

Had a great time and enjoyed seeing all the fun and crazy costumes.  We may act silly but its for a serious Cause, one that could save the life of someone you love. Like your Mom, sister, daughter, Aunt, cousin, girlfriend or even yourself.  So if you didn't make it to the walk this morning you can still donate.

What's in a song

My husband is cooking dinner tonight, no surprise there, he always does the cooking.  I can smell it as I "play"on the puter.  Chicken in the oven seasoned with rosemary, sage, thyme, salt & pepper.  Made me think of the song by Simon & Garfunkel - Scarborough Faire also known as Parsely, Rosemary, Sage & Thyme.  Made me wonder how many times a word or a smell with make you remember a song.  Or the other way around.  We are a musical lot and so much of our life is depended on it.  My husband once was a professional drummer and played with several bands in his home town of Albuquerque.  He currently playes keyboards, much like his brother Matt.  My kids both played in their high school band and my daughter is attending Troy Univ. studying to be a music teacher.

Primative man banged on drums, made instruments out of wood, danced, sang and had a merry ole' time with music throughout the ages.  New age music today sounds from the future of space and traveling beyond.  I guess we will always have music in some shape or form in our lives.  I remember when I first started paying attention to the radio and selecting the music I wanted to listen to.  My taste in music varies widely from the mild easy listening, old school funk, 70's classic rock, love metal and so on.

Which brings me back to how often have you heard a song and its reminded you of something, an event, occassion, or just a fading memory.  Music is woven into our very being and I think without we would be hollow.

Enjoyed the day with my daughter.  Bit of shopping at Walmart and then off to the beach. Water was still too cold to do more than stick my toes in but it was nice and sunny.  I'll be taking her back up to Troy tomorrow and it wont be until summer break until I see her again. Sometimes I really wish I could just stay up there with her but I have to let her live her life.  I'm very grateful that both of my kids still include me in their lives.

Valentine's Day

One day out of the year, we are reminded to say "I LOVE YOU".
Some of us say it all the time and its extra special when it's also your anniversary, like it was mine and Thomas'.  We have been together for 10 years now, married for 6 and still going strong.
Not a day goes by that we don't say those 3 little words to each other.
I love you Tom.
